Saturday evening the Marblehead regiment met at the old town hall and began their short march up to old burial hill to honor General Glover. I had marked the occasion in my calendar but forgot about it until we heard the musket shots fired. We live in old town Marblehead in a house that John Merritt from the revolutionary war once owned. We scrambled to put on our boots and our coats and ran up the narrow road just in time to the see them finishing their ceremony. Next year I will do better at remembering the event!
On Saturday afternoon we drove up to see Joey’s (my step-son’s) basketball game. It is so much fun to watch him play.
Since we’re on the subject of Joey, I stumbled across this picture of him. I think it’s about from about 7 years ago! Such a cutie. It occurred to me while we were watching him play basketball that I should probably start calling him Joe instead of Joey. It won’t be too long until he is towering over me.
