I gave my mother this little sign for her birthday. She really doesn’t like winter.
I like to say that winter and I have come to an understanding.
One year I bought myself some snowshoes and it was so much fun! So, I forgave winter for being so cold and bought myself some good winter clothing.
Some people dislike winter so much that they don’t even like Autumn because “they know what’s coming.” But…it’s cold for 5 or 6 months here in New England. That’s about half of the year. Which means that you are unhappy for half of your life over the weather…which you have no control over.
Move….or find a way to get along with it. What a waste.
You are right, of course. We can’t control the weather, only our reaction to it. I need to make peace with winter. Thanks for the reminder! 🙂
I am shocked at the number of people hear who hate winter so much. Then complain all summer too when it’s hot. Can’t win!
Yes, you are right! Each day of life is precious. Why wish almost half of them away? We must try and enjoy each moment.
I am not at all a fan of winter but I do look for the joy in it. We tried snowshoeing last year and loved it. I have made sure to buy myself appropriate gear and just avoid going outside on those really really bitingly cold days.
Wise words, we have a similar cold period here too. Time is precious, we should use it wisely.
The older I get, the less I like winter. But why fight it? Good excuse to buy some new sweaters to snuggle in and enjoy the season 🙂
