Cabot Street, in Beverly, MA. Is a wonderful, old fashioned downtown, shopping street. It’s part of my commute home from work. There are shops of all sorts and one of my favourite shops is called Field House. It is rather a little shop and they sell all sorts of pretty home goods and plants as well. It’s kind of an eclectic mix. Thursday evening on my way home I stopped in and picked up this woodsy dishcloth. It’s hanging over the handle on my stove.
And speaking of dish cloths….
A few weeks ago I purchased these at the same shop. I wanted curtains for the kitchen window but couldn’t find anything I liked. So…I used these pretty blue, cotton dish towels. I didn’t do any sewing…I just pinned them up there.
Wow, this is an awesome idea! And it would also be cheaper than curtains. I love the things in your window, too. Wish I could shop there, it sounds wonderful.
I’ve done the same thing – I found clips in the curtain rod department that have pincers to clip onto the towel and run along the rod, easy to open and close, then. It’s a lovely idea!
I love your curtains, what a great idea! Your little shop on your commute sounds lovely.
You’re doing a reverse Scarlet O’Hara!
And I think pinning them up is brilliant! They look terrific.
I sew, but am always still looking for quick alternatives. My DIL loves using the liquid fabric to sew. It is always much cheaper to make our own. Mine is just material doubled over and then I filled with cotton batting for a fullness effect. That sounds awesome to have a street with shops. Our town now has nothing but the big stores, and downtown is like a ghost town and I miss it from when growing up here. There was so much life back in the day. Now it’s just WM and Meijer.
