Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.
This is what I see when I stand on the landing of my back staircase. I stood there the other day and thought about how close we all live in this tiny area in old town. When we first moved here it took me a few weeks to remember that the view of the front window was the street and not a driveway…it’s that narrow.
We’re all pretty tucked in tight. It’s especially important to remember to be considerate, kind and neighborly. It’s especially important to remember that how we act and not necessarily what we say is the way to stir up love and good work
Agreed! I’m thinking you are not used to this, it can take some getting used to.
Great thoughts for living in close proximity, both physically and metaphorically.
And I was admiring your jars of sea glass, sorted by color!
A good practice – even when we have no one within shouting distance.
What a transition for you! We lived in a tight, crowded neighborhood in the city until four years ago. Now we live outside city limits of a smaller city across the river from there. God bless and keep and comfort you in your new home.
Growing up all the houses were close together, and everyone pretty much knew all the families for blocks in each direction. There was always porch visits, I miss living in a neighborhood as we’re a bit out in the country and I don’t walk down the country road to visit. Seems you are settling in, and nice that you have family close. Have a great week.
No matter how close our neighbors, we should always be stirring up love and good works rather than strife! Great reminder today!
