We had my grandson, Verne, visiting over the weekend! He spent Saturday night with us and my daughter and son-in-law came to pick him up on Sunday. We had such a great time that he wasn’t entirely convinced he was ready to go home.
He is a country boy and so was enamored of the sidewalks in my little town. We walked to the beach and he played in the water for a few hours.
My sister and her fiancé were visiting from Connecticut as well. They were staying at my mum’s. She lives just below us on the first floor. It was nice for us all to be together without anyone having to drive home.
We live just around the corner from the town landing so we walked down to the dock in the morning and watched the fishermen getting ready for the day.
I had some time between when I got out of work and a staff meeting later in the evening so I took some pictures in the public gardens. The swan boats are a right of passage and a big tourist draw here in Boston. If you’ve ever read the book Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, these are the boats that Mr. and Mrs. Mallard get their peanuts from.
When my daughter and son-in-law came to pick up Verne, they brought Abigail with them. I got a chance to visit with her as well! She’s so darn cute!
